Foothills Athletic Park

Located in North West Calgary, Foothills Athletic Park is right beside McMahon Stadium, home of the Calgary Stampeders and is just outside of the University of Calgary's campus.  At an elevation of 1050m, the City of Calgary creates a great opportunity for sprinters, jumpers and throwers to put down some fantastic results. While Calgary weather is known to be fickle at times, average highs for June are in the twenties and promise for good running conditions even when it rains.

Foothills Athletic Park went through an extensive renovation that was completed in 2011, just in time for the National Track and Field Championships.  Calgary will also play host to the 2012 Olympic Trials, so the city and facility are ready to accommodate the needs of a high performance competition.  Discus, Javelin and Hammer are all showcased on the infield, as opposed to many facilities that have throwing events outside of the track. Large soccer fields provide ample space to warm-up for any athlete.

Included in the renovations were new stands and new AV equipment, so the facility is fully wired for media access.
